Alone, Together: Stephen Satterfield
September 28, 2016
Welcome back to The Lonely Hour’s pre-season two mini-series. This is the fourth of five essay episodes—we’re getting close to launch!—and it’s actually a poem, by writer and activist Stephen Satterfield.
Stephen was inspired to write “Lonely Our” after he and I finished dinner together at Roman’s, my favorite neighborhood restaurant. Really, we spent the whole time ogling a man dining alone at the bar, trying to figure him out. We projected all sorts of stories onto him. This is one of them.
